UN Agency Addresses Global Risks of Radon Exposure

The United Nations says it’s making a global effort to address the radio-active element radon, an odorless gas found in homes and buildings that can cause lung cancer.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says it is helping countries in Europe to develop a National Radon Action Plan, which aims to protect people from the harmful effects. Radon can build up in the ground and seep into houses.
