The Golden State Shines Brightest In Solar Energy Jobs

June 7, 2013- Per earthtechling.com, the Center for American Progress has identified California as having a dramatically higher rate of paying jobs in the solar industry than any other state. Our most populous state, California boasts 43,700 such jobs, as compared to, say, Texas, with a mere 3,200.

The top ten states for solar jobs in 2012 were: California, Arizona, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York, Texas, Michigan and Ohio.

As a point of reference, 119,000 Americans were employed in the solar industry last year, overshadowing the coal mining industry at 87,500.

The Solar Foundation (TSF) Survey of Solar Jobs was released some months ago, and they've now released the data via interactive state map.
