OSHA Releases Game-Based Training Tool on Hazard Identification

July 28, 2014- A new interactive training tool released by OSHA aims to help small business owners, workers, and others to understand hazard identification, abatement and control. The online, game-based tool is also intended to raise awareness about resources on workplace hazards featured on OSHA’s website.

Users can play from the perspective of a business owner or an employee and choose from three different scenarios: “OSHA Visual Inspection Training,” “Manufacturing Facility,” and “Construction.”

For instance, the OSHA Visual Inspection Training scenario focuses on the visual inspection to identify specific hazards. It offers a saw, industrial chemical mixer, scaffolding, and fall protection for inspection.

Users can experience the entire workplace in the “Manufacturing Facility” and “Construction” scenarios, which focus on skills needed to identify hazards.
