OSHA aims to prevent falls in construction with national stand-down events

June 4, 2014- OSHA is launching a national safety stand-down to raise awareness about fall hazards in the construction industry this week (June 2–6). OSHA hopes workplaces will address fall hazards and the importance of fall prevention.

The website for the stand-down features resources to help workplaces participate in the event, including free training materials, prevention videos, fact sheets and posters.

“Falls account for more than a third of all deaths in this industry,” said Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA David Michaels, PhD.
