April 11 Webcast Officially Kicks Off 2013 Green Apple Day of Service

April 10, 2013- The U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Center for Green Schools kick-offs this year's Green Apple Day of Service with an informative webcast on Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m. EST. The webcast will announce plans for this year's event on September 28, and relate how to start your own events. Register for the kick-off webcast here, or view it afterward.

The second annual Day of Service invites communities throughout the U.S. and around the globe to aid Green Apple in their stated mission: "Green Apple is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future." All the resources and tools you’ll need are available at mygreenapple.org, including project ideaslast year's highlights, and a place to register your project (registration is now open).

Highlights of last year's event included strategies for composting, recycling and energy conservation, garden cleanups, mural paintings and renewable energy seminars. 

A series of further webcasts will be released throughout the spring and summer.
